humpack whale

As they were approaching the whale, Michal thought the whale was close to death. But suddenly it forcefully exhaled, showing it was still alive.

The whale was tangled in a gill net. It was frightened and fatigued because she was unable to untangle herself. But even on the brink of death she was still potentially dangerous.

Michael decided to go swimming in the ocean to cut the gill net to let the whale go free. As they were cutting the net the whale was moving because
she wanted to be free . So Michal was moving the boat with his paddle. Then they where cutting throw the net .

When they went to cut the net the whale was up side down because it was trying to move around it was gasping for breath . She blowed because she had to.
After the whale was untangled the whale showed Michal and his family joy .She was doing 40 breaches ,and tail slaps and put on a magnificent display. The whale got to live happily ever After .It really showed Michal and his family that the whale was really grateful for them being there to help.

Cross Country

When the race was starting I felt so nervous that I was going to come last. Waiting I also felt like I was going to fall.  I was thinking that because last year I fell down.

We were down at the pt England reserve waiting for the 9 year old cross country race to the start. While waiting we saw some kids running fast but most were not.

We all lined up to get ready for the race. As soon as Mr Burt yelled out "On your mark. Get set. Go! " we left. All of the girls ran with speed so they can get in the front of the other girls. I was going to run fast but I didn't because I wanted to save my breath for later.

This year the race was different and difficult. Every where we went the path was shelly, nallow and  winding. We ran past Tamaki college and  when we got to the end of the steps it was very muddy.

Ms Squires said,  "Go! You can do it." I said to my self, "Yes I can do it." So I ran then I jogged because I didn't want to lose and be at the back of every one.

On the way to Tamaki College it was smelly because it was by the smelly creek . It smelled like rotten bananas in the rubbish bin. As we went down in the creek it was muddy and slippery and there were lots of bushes around the creek. It looked scary cause I saw no one at the back of me so I was running as fast as I could but I lost my breath so I was jogging.

Badminton

Lorene and Donna were the badminton people. Lorene and Donna showed room 14 how to hold the racket and they told us how to serve the shuttle.

Soon room 14 went to get a racket and a shuttle.  Donna and Lorene told room 14 to stand anywhere we liked. Soon we served our shuttles in the air. We had to keep the shuttle airborne. I felt like I was having a competition with my class room .I felt like I was really at badminton having a real competition with my class room and I shouted out loud, "Yes I won!!!."

Later on we played a rotating game with Lorene. Room 14 had to go in a line and get a shuttle then Lorene had to get a shuttle and some short and long rackets .We started in a line then Lorene had to hit the shuttle to the person who is in the front of the line. When Lorene hit the shuttle we had to hit the shuttle back to her and then run to the back of the line.

After that we had to get 5 shuttles and step 5 feet back from the shuttle filled bin. We had to hit the shuttle into the shuttle filled bin. When we had finished hitting all of our shuttles room14 had to wait till
everyone's shuttles were finished .
