Cross Country

When the race was starting I felt so nervous that I was going to come last. Waiting I also felt like I was going to fall.  I was thinking that because last year I fell down.

We were down at the pt England reserve waiting for the 9 year old cross country race to the start. While waiting we saw some kids running fast but most were not.

We all lined up to get ready for the race. As soon as Mr Burt yelled out "On your mark. Get set. Go! " we left. All of the girls ran with speed so they can get in the front of the other girls. I was going to run fast but I didn't because I wanted to save my breath for later.

This year the race was different and difficult. Every where we went the path was shelly, nallow and  winding. We ran past Tamaki college and  when we got to the end of the steps it was very muddy.

Ms Squires said,  "Go! You can do it." I said to my self, "Yes I can do it." So I ran then I jogged because I didn't want to lose and be at the back of every one.

On the way to Tamaki College it was smelly because it was by the smelly creek . It smelled like rotten bananas in the rubbish bin. As we went down in the creek it was muddy and slippery and there were lots of bushes around the creek. It looked scary cause I saw no one at the back of me so I was running as fast as I could but I lost my breath so I was jogging.
